Well, here are the piccies...
Hei Sushi Pt 1
This was my first attempt at trying out this eatery. Frankly, I was excited (yup, I'm a sucker for Jap food and stuff) and fortunately the meal that I ordered on that day didn't fail me.

Although everything was served in 'diet portion', I was way too full for dessert after that. By the way, this restaurant also serves sushi on the conveyor thingy. It's definitely calling me for a comeback!

Hei Sushi Pt 2 (Sembawang Shopping Centre)
I told you, I'd make a comeback. This time I brought the whole motley crew as it was Childrens' Day. Another word, it was like cousins and nieces and nephews outing plus binging kind of event!

This time around, I was EVEN more excited because Baby S was with me and I really wanted her to try out the kiddy bento set. Look how CUTE it is!

This is actually the best part of our meal - dessert time! Tartufo (meaning truffles in Italian) is actually an ice-cream dessert . It's super-duper sinful because as you can see, it's made up of chocolate right to the core. If you're on a diet, ditch this dessert or give it to your enemy who's trying to lose weight!
As for the Apple Sensation Gelato, it does look all innocent with its wholesome, apple-ish goodness but the skin of the apple is actually made of milk chocolate which is hand-painted to make it look like an apple. The gelato in the apple itself...hmmm, unique and quite refreshing actually.
Max Brenner Chocolate Bar

Ooh, and not forgetting the Belgian Waffles. The best waffles I've tasted in years! It's best if you share it with someone if you're not a big eater. I shared it with Baby S but it was still not an easy task cleaning up the plate.

Carousel
This buffet restaurant which is located at Royal Plaza on Scotts Hotel is used to be called Cafe Vienna. Back then, I only tried their high tea buffet so this time, since they've changed their name to Carousel, I wanted a go on their dinner buffet instead (also, JJ was persuading me quite badly to try it). I remembered CV's decor was quite old-fashioned so when I walked into the refurbished place, I was quite impressed by the ambience. Plus, their buffet spread was quite lavish and their seafood was very fresh. This was indeed the best and priciest buffet I had in 2009. The dinner buffet costs $58.00 for adults on weekdays and $70.00 on weekends but I guess it's quite alright to indulge on a fine spread once in awhile
This is the first thing that caught my eyes when I entered the restaurant. It's the dessert station! Can you see the jars of colourful meringue which they've arranged at the top shelf? Aren't they gorgeous?

Hei Shushi Pt 3 (Sembawang Shopping Centre)
I was craving for Japanese food on this particular day and I could only think of one place. It's Hei Sushi for me AGAIN but I guess 3 is not a lucky number for me. Read on...

Tempura Ramen
1st disappointment: I really had high hopes for the broth but I was quite disappointed by the taste which is a bit too sweet for my tastebuds. I do have a sweet tooth but sweet broth? I think this dish didn't really hit the right spot for me. Luckily the prawn tempura wasn't such a letdown.

Well, that's mostly I can put up for now (being a foodie is NOT EASY for an ameteur like me) and with that I shall wrap it up for this half of my reviews for 2009. Signing off!
